This is a frequent theme on many older monuments... a half-draped vase. I don't know the meaning behind it, if someone does... please post a comment. Thanks.

- 'Wasichu' is Lakota and is a term used to designate the white man, although it has no reference to the color of skin. The Eagle Feather: Black is for the west where the thunder beings live to send us rain. White is for the north, whence comes the great white cleansing wind. Red is for the east which springs the light. Yellow is for the south in which comes the summer & the power to grow. But these four spirits are only one Spirit after all, and the Eagle feather is for that One, which is like a Father, and also that the thoughts of men should rise high as the Eagles do.
